Team USA kicked off its quest for the Pan American Team Gold today with a 2-1 win over El Salvador.

Julian Illingworth, who played for Individual Gold Monday evening, didn't have anything left Tuesday morning and lost to Bates College's (Maine) Rickey Weiskopft. Rickey is one of the most paitent players in USA College Squash and wore Julian down.

Birthday boy Christopher Gordon took his match 3-0 in 20 mins over Nelson Coronado to tie the match at 1-1.

Making his 2007 Pan American debut, Jamie Crombie beat Byron Garcia 3-0 in 18mins to take the match for USA 2-1.

Up next is Mexico Tuesday night with a rematch of the Gold Medal Match--Julian will face off against Erick Galvez for the second time in 24 hours. Christopher Gordon will play Jorge Baltazar who he lost to in a tight 3-1 match in the 2nd round of the Individuals. Jamie Crombie will square off against Marcos Mendez at the 3 spot. Should USA win, they will become the #1 seed for the team event and get a bye into the Semi Finals on Wednesday night and lock in their first ever Pan American Team Medal.. Should USA lose to Mexico, they will slot into the quarterfinals and have to play into the Medal Round.
