Jack Wyant to lead U.S. Team selection and coaching for
2007 Junior Women’s World Championships
BALA CYNWYD, PENNSYLVANIA, SEPTEMBER 20, 2006 – The United States Squash Racquets
Association (“US Squash”) officially announced the appointment of the University of Pennsylvania
women's squash Head Coach Jack Wyant to be the Head Coach of the United States Junior Women's
Squash Team. Wyant, who will add these coaching responsibilities to his current ones at Penn, will lead
the team at next year's Junior Women’s World Championships in Hong Kong next August.
Wyant has coached the Penn women’s team since 2004 and has extensive international playing
experience, having competed as a player at the World Juniors in 1990 and 1992, and on the Men’s Team
during the 1997 and 1998 Pan American Squash Federation Cup competitions.
Prior to coaching at Penn, Wyant served as the head coach of the girls’ squash team at Milton Academy in
Milton, Massachusetts. A three-time junior national champion, Wyant was also a three-time All-
American and four-time All-Ivy League honoree while competing on the Princeton squash team from
1991-1995.
Wyant takes the position vacated by Shabana Khan who stepped down earlier this year for personal
reasons. He will share coaching responsibilities with Assistant Coach Meredeth Quick who currently
competes on the U.S. Women’s Team. The U.S. Junior Women’s Team finished a record-tying 4th place
at the 2005 World Junior Women’s Team Championships.
