Selection System
There will be two phases involved in the selection
of athletes for the 2007 World Men’s Team Championships.
Phase 1: Team trial qualification for the 2007 World Men’s
Team Championships will be based on the best three results
in selection events listed below (see V. Tryout Sites and
Events). Participation in the S.L. Green U.S. Championships
is mandatory for all athletes.
Phase 2: Final team selection for the 2007 World Men’s
Team Championships will be based upon the best three results
from the selection events listed below (see V. Tryout Sites
and Events) and will be counted towards a player’s
ranking.
• The top two ranked players as of October 21st, 2007
automatically make the team.
• The remaining two positions will be selected by
a play-off with the players ranked 3 through 6 as of October
21st 2007. The top two finishers in the play-off make the
team. The play-off will take place November 2nd-4th at the
Cincinnati Country Club. In order to attend trials, players
must agree to participate in the World Championships in
Chennai, India, December 6-12, 2007
Note: Rankings will be calculated by taking a player’s
total points from his best three events from a rolling 12
month Selection Event Calendar.
Note: The individual placing 3rd in the final team trials
is the first replacement; the individual placing 4th in
the final team trial is the second replacement - in the
