The World Team Championships happens every 2 years and
this year, 2005, it is being hosted in Chennai, India
The US team consists of 4 squad
members that will compete against teams from all over the
world for the title of
World Team Champions.
It’s a tough week of squash with one or 2 matches in
a day. Each team consists of 3 players so, in any given tie,
the winning team is the first to win 2 of those matches.
It’s crucial to have the four Squad members to share
the work through the week, resting when possible, in order
to be in the best possible shape for every match.
It’s a huge team effort. Through the course of the
week we can expect anything from tiredness, injuries, stiffness
and potentially illness to be hurdles to overcome.
The team leaves on Dec 3th 2007. The competition
is the 6th-12th. Watch this website for results and team blogs to keep you in the picture!
Read about how the team got here in the trials report
In Squash,
Chris Walker
Team Coach.
